This cover really does feel like rubber though it is painted plastic. It fits well and securely and will not come off unless the phone is subjected to some pretty rough handling. I don't think it would offer much protection should the phone be dropped but it will protect it from scratches and other cosmetic damage. The phone will still look like new after the cover is removed. The phone is fully functional with the cover on and can be opened and closed without the cover getting in the way. It doesn't add a whole lot of bulk or weight to the phone and there is a hole on the back if you want to add a belt clip. This cover is inexpensive and effective protection for your phone.

This case works great as a long as you don't plan to use the belt clip. It fits perfectly on my Verizon XV6900 (white HTC Touch) and provides excellent protection from scratches and moderate protection from drops. The case provides a nice "rubbery" feel to the otherwise slick shell of my XV6900. The case seems to resist scratches fairly well. I can use the full functionality, including the FLO 3D menu system. I have dropped my phone on concrete once and the case came apart (did not break, however) and the phone was not damaged at all.
I agree with the previous reviewer that by using the belt clip, you will probably end up breaking your phone.

I bought the hard cover for the HTC Touch. When I received it I observed it to be a 2 piece cover made of thin plastic which does have some rubber texture feel. What makes this perticular product a bad purchase is the way the plastic fastens together. It has small fragile snaps that will easily break and looses its ability to stay together after awhile. If you plan on keeping this phone on your belt with the clip provided you will be taking a chance on your phone falling off or the cover falling apart. This phone is too expensive to have that kind of quality protecting it. Other than that the cover looks nice but does not meet the standards for keeping your phone safe.
